The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to provide guidance and direction to boys ages 11-17 and to develop character while providing fun, outdoor knowledge, and life experiences. Scouts learn skills such as knots, first aid, camping, cooking and survival skills, and are actively involved in community service. Activities include summer camping, winter camping, attending hockey games or hiking above tree line.
Starting in September, Troop 84 will meet Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Pittsfield Community Center. Call George Robbins, 603 435-8298.
Eagle Scouts (teens) are active in Pittsfield and, among other things, do community service projects.
