Mission: The Alternative Center for Excellence, a school of choice, is a high school program that believes that students’ experiences should help develop individual strengths, physical and emotional health, respect for self and others and prepare them to become competent and contributing members of their community. (Students: 39; Grades: 9-12)
Programs: Established in 1977 as a way to meet need of students not ideally served in traditional school setting. Students who graduate earn a Danbury High School diploma.
Involvement in community service activities is expected of all students. The school encourages students to commit to at least 15 hours of community service projects per semester.
