A youth development program for youth aged 16-24 who have not been successful in school or the workplace. The students alternate weeks between an academic setting and a vocational one and work toward a GED while they develop vocational skills. The students complete the construction of a new single family "green-built" home that will be sold to a low-income, first-time homeowner.
The program recruits, trains and oversees mentoring initiative at both the middle and high school levels. In 2009-2010, there were 23 mentors working with struggling students at Durfee High School.
