Provides year-round recreational, educational and cultural programs for Fall River residents, with a particular emphasis on economically disadvantaged youth.


Offers a variety of programs ranging from participatory sports and creative classes to educational presentations and theatrical-musical performances for those who could otherwise be unable to afford or participate in these programs.  Evening, weekend and summer programs, summer lunch program, and community service and school-to-work opportunities for youth.

Works with neighborhood associations.  Also, coordinates Youth CHOICES, a subcommittee of Healthy City Fall River, which is a collaboration among school systems to ensure an integration between school-based and youth activities among thirty community programs.
 

Employs some 150 youth/year in jobs related to youth leadership, mentoring and skills development, including work in the after-school elementary school programs, and summer park and lunch program.
