Mission: To connect food producers, growers and consumers, to encourage people to grow more of their own food, and to provide an outlet for local small-scale food growers, artisan food producers, local artisans and community members. Additionally, it is the purpose of the Sanford Farmers’ Market and the Sanford Downtown Legacy to provide a community gathering space for residents and visitors to Sanford.

Many local farmers are vendors at this market; many possibilities exist for youth to become involved as growers/sellers; as assistants learning the business of farming; or in terms of making connections with farmers interested in youth interns.

The market seeks nonprofits and volunteers to organize children’s activities during the market hours, such as face painting, petting zoo, etc. Pre-register with Thea Murphy at 207 337-0642.
