An independent nonprofit whose mission is to discover the genetic basis for preventing, treating and curing human disease, and to enable research for the global biomedical community.

For youth: Offer high school internships to motivated youth from local high schools; teacher internships for secondary math and science teachers; and numerous seminars and lectures.

Note: Organizing the state science fair, open to all Maine high school students, in 2011.

There may be a possibility to open up high school internships to Sumner Memorial High students, or to allow for talented high school students to ‘audit’ seminars and lectures.
