"manufactured gas holder" "vapor intrusion" superfund MGP
unknown
Site Description[1] The former Rutledge St manufactured gas holder station is comprised of nine parcels of land located in Brooklyn, New York. The site is is bounded by Rutledge St, Wallabout St, Hayward St, and Kent Ave in Brooklyn. Current land use for all nine land parcels is residential. A gas holder and associated buildings were located on the site from at least 1887 to 1935. No evidence of gas production on the site has been found. It appears that this was just a remote storage holder. The SC work plan has been approved, but as of 10/08 field work had not begun, pending completion of an access agreement with the current site owner.
