Site for teleport is located in the southeast quadrant of the Staten Island Expressway (I-278) and the west shore expressway interchange. Near the Goethals Bridge approximately 20 old drums containing hazardous wastes were discovered in an area approximately 50' x 50' in S.E. corner of the lot ear-marked for proposed teleport. The lot is owned by NY City and has been leased to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. All the drums and contaminated soil have been removed from the site and remedial measures have been completed as per the approved plan.

The site was delisted from the registry as removal action conducted at the site has removed all hazardous waste.
