The site is located on Landing Road, along the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx. The site is currently occupied by a vacant parking lot, Fordham Landing Playground, and the Major Deegan Expressway. The site is the location of a former gas holder station which operated approximately between 1912 and 1952. A Site Characterization was completed in 2004 and no significant MGP contamination was encountered. A release and covenant not to sue was issued. No ECs/ICs required.

Site Health Assessment
No evidence of former gas holders or waste material was found in the investigation. Review of data indicates that polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in soil are at levels that do not indicate a public health concern. Exposure to groundwater is unlikely since the area is served by public water supply.
